The organisers of the Geneva International Horse Show (CHIG) are proud to announce the participation of the world’s N° 1 riders in each of the four disciplines being disputed at Palexpo. European show jumping champion Peder Fredricson from Sweden will also join the incredible line-up with his horse H&M All In. And the names of the drivers competing in the sole Swiss round of the FEI Driving World Cup have now been released.
There could be no better news for CHIG and the feast of equestrianism it will stage from 7th to 10th December: the world’s N° 1 riders in the disciplines being disputed in Geneva have all confirmed their presence! So the public will be able to spur on Kent Farrington from the USA in the show jumping, Australian driver Boyd Exell, and Germans Isabell Werth and Michael Jung in the dressage and indoor cross-country respectively. And, as if that were not enough, the European champion and Olympic silver medallist Peder Fredricson from Sweden will be there with his superb horse H&M All In. Several other great names across the four disciplines will be added during the run-up to the event.
Six drivers fancy their chances of toppling world Nº 1 and sevenfold winner of the FEI Driving World Cup, Boyd Exell. Local lad Jérôme Voutaz, second in February’s FEI World Cup Final in Gothenburg and winner of the marathon and cones in the 2017 European Championships, will be doing his utmost to win for Switzerland in front of his home crowd. Edouard Simonet from Belgium, who won individual silver and team bronze medals in the last Europeans, will be competing in Geneva for the first time, as will Chester Weber, bronze medallist at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and the first American to win the driving at CHIO Aachen three years ago Bram Chardon, son of multiple champion Ijsbrand, will represent the Netherlands, while Georg von Stein rides for Germany. Finally, there is the possibility that a wild card will allow a French driver to participate.
