LONGINES GLOBAL CHAMPIONS TOUR
Die Longines Global Champions Tour – abgekürzt GCT – ist eine seit dem Jahr 2006 ausgetragene internationale Turnierserie im Springreiten. Alle Turniere der Serie werden seit 2007 als CSI 5*, der schwersten Turnierkategorie im Springreiten, ausgeschrieben.
Heute ist die Longines Global Champions Tour die höchst dotierte Reitsportserie der Welt.

Jérôme Guery (BEL) and his 15 year old grey stallion Papillon Z raised the temperatures on the final day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Chantilly, with a hotly contested fight to the finish of the Master Del Monte & Region Hauts de France.

Harrie Smolders (NED) celebrated a “diamond day” in Chantilly after winning the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix and the Global Champions League team competition with his super stallion Emerald.
Dutchman Harrie has dramatically extended his lead in the Tour championship race after beating a high-powered field including serious challenges from Scott Brash (GBR) and Philippe Rozier (FRA) who finished second and third on the podium. Earlier Harrie and Emerald seized victory for the Hamburg Diamonds in the GCL showdown.

Hamburg Diamonds delivered a masterclass in grace under pressure, after a sensational win from Harrie Smolders and John Whitaker saw the team shoot to the top of the overall Global Champions League rankings.
Smolders revealed the intensity of the Diamonds‘ drive to win the team title this season, saying “we’re also very focused on the team – we try to put our good horses [forward], we don’t ride for the class ourselves but we try to ride for the team first.“

Hamburg Diamonds‘ formidable pairing of John Whitaker and Harrie Smolders sparkled in a split-second victory against Miami Glory in one of the closest GCL finishes to date.
Shock results from fellow teams at the sharp end of the grid means the Championship race is wide open, with the 10th leg of the 15-event series a pivotal moment in the season battle.

Danielle Goldstein pulled off her first-ever Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix win with her “amazing” chestnut mare Lizziemary in a fast-paced jump off in Cascais.
Danielle (ISR) sealed her first-ever Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix win by taking a stride out early on before jumping the double verticals superbly and making a great turn back to the water tray fence. Her acceleration over the big oxer with Lizziemary was followed by a determined gallop to the last. Danielle said she knew she had to go all out in the five-strong jump off and the win was “a dream” as „everyone wants to win a Global Champions Tour Grand Prix”.

Valkenswaard United take over GCL ranking after dramatic night
Valkenswaard United took over the Global Champions League ranking lead in Cascais tonight after winners Miami Glory were disqualified due to an FEI ruling.
Second place team Mexico Amigos, helped by a double clear from Henrik von Eckermann, were declared the winners with Paris Panthers’ Jack Towell and Lillie Keenan in second place on the podium and Valkenswaard United’s duo of Marcus Ehning and Bertram Allen in third.

It was a night of high drama as the first round of the Global Champions League Cascais kicked off in the spectacular Portuguese setting. Thrills, spills and top class sport kept spectators on the edge of their seats, but it would be the Miami team who blazed to Glory in tonight’s competition, after Georgina Bloomberg and Cian O’Connor put in a flawless round to rocket them to the top of the leaderboard.
