Die Sechste Station der Global Champions Tour wird in Madrid sein. Die bekanntesten Reiter der Welt werden den Kampf um die Punkte im Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, nahe der Spanischen Hauptstadt beginnen.

Der neue Team-Wettbewerb findet am Sonntag um 18:00 Uhr statt. Es wird noch mehr Aktion und und Weltklasse Reitsport zu sehen sein.

Sechste Etappe der Global Champions Tour – Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum auf Platz 6

Das sechste Turnier der 15 Etappen umfassenden Global Champions Tour führte die Reiter nach Madrid. In Spaniens Hauptstadt wurde Marcus Ehning (Borken) wie ein Held gefeiert: Im Sattel des französischen Wallachs Pret a Tout gewann der 41-Jährige den Großen Preis, die Wertungsprüfung der Tour, und ein Preisgeld in Höhe von rund 105.000 Euro.

Pret a Tout ist ein schnelles Pferd, das hatte der 13-jährige Fuchswallach aus der französischen Zucht bereits vor zwei Wochen in Hamburg unter Beweis gestellt.

It was a battle of gladiatorial standards as the twelve teams took to the stunning grass arena for the Global Champions League of Madrid, as the points ranking tightened dramatically during the sixth leg of the 2016 Championship fight. With adrenaline running high in the picture perfect setting, it was another showcase of top sport and entertainment right until the final fence, with the magnificent Rome Gladiators – consisting of Laura Kraut and Laura Renwick – who reigned supreme.

An ecstatic Laura Renwick, who jumped double clear with Bintang II spoke of the pressure in the final round, „After Laura did such a great job I just tried to go as fast as I could and leave the jumps up, and it worked today.”

It was standing room only at the stunning Spanish round of the Longines Global Champions Tour as Marcus Ehning (GER) took a sensational win with the 13 year old chestnut gelding Pret a Tout. In front of packed passionate crowds, an eight rider jump off had spectators on the edge of their seats right until the final fence as last combination to go, Marcus and Pret a Tout, galloped the course in a stunning display of skill and speed.

Great Britain’s Laura Renwick had an impressive two more trophies to add to her cabinet today after a phenomenal double win at the opening day of competition at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Madrid. With two of her top horses in action in the stunning Spanish setting, Laura won both CSI5* classes – the CSI5* 1.45m Volvo Trophy and the CSI5* 1.50m Massimo Dutti Trophy – in a beautiful display of horsemanship against a formidable world class field.

Indeed it was such a high calibre line-up of horses and riders in action, that the top 13 placed combinations in the Massimo Dutti Trophy all finished just tenths of a second apart – highlighting the exhilarating action and world class show jumping on display this weekend at the LGCT Madrid.

Talking about her second win, an ecstatic Laura said afterwards: “I’m a bit in shock! To have the person who was in 13th place on the same second – that’s unheard of really!”

The opening day of competition at the Club Campo Madrid saw the world’s top riders in action ahead of sixth round of the Championship – the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Madrid – which will take place Saturday at 17:00.

It’s set to another nail-biter of a Longines Global Champions Tour weekend, with seven out of the world’s top ten riders in action at the Madrid event this week. For the fourth year in a row, the Tour will return to the stunning Spanish setting with the event taking place from the 19th – 22nd May in the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. This year will also welcome the Global Champions League as the battle hots up for the Championship and teams fight for position on the overall ranking leaderboard. The revolutionary new team competition will take place on Sunday at 18:00, with the promise of yet more intense action and top, world class sport.

Elated Luciana Diniz said her “dream came true” today as she claimed her first Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix win.

Scott Brash is back on top of the championship ranking for the second time in the 2015 season. But the British rider, on 73 points, is only four points ahead of Luciana who has rocketed up to second place in the overall ranking.

In one of the most unpredictable Grand Prix in the history of the Tour, many of the world’s top riders stacked up uncharacteristic faults and time penalties. For the first time since 2011 there was no jump off.

Bei der dritten Etappe der Global Champions Tour, die beim Internationalen Springturnier CSI***** in der spanischen Hauptstadt Madrid ausgetragen wurde, mussten die deutschen Teilnehmer ihren Konkurrenten den Vortritt bei den Spitzenplätzen lassen.

Siegerin wurde Luciana Diniz (Portugal) mit ihrem Hengst Winningmood. Die gebürtige Brasilianerin, die im Rheinland lebt, schaffte es als einzige Teilnehmerin beide Runde fehlerfrei zu beenden und durfte sich für dieses Leistung über ein Preisgeld von 105.600 Euro freuen.

Talking ahead of the Grand Prix Bassem said: „Madrid is a very nice show, with many top riders interested in coming here with the big grass arena. I’m really happy to be here.“
